Eating Out - Restaurants / Cafe's in Carlisle & Cumbria

For a northern, relatively rural and traditional town, Carlisle and the surrounding towns seem to have attracted a wide range of restaurants. Or the lake district offers a wider range of more traditional and some modern dishes. Don't worry though because there's always a traditional cumbrian pub willing to serve you traditional cumbrian food.

We're going to be making some suggestions of where/what to eat on this page... just as soon as we've stopped arguing about which place is best to eat at.
